About Us
The Halfmoon Township Planning Commission is an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors. It consists of five to seven members, each appointed by the Board for a four-year term. The Commission works closely with the Centre Region COG Senior Planner, and Township Manager.
Meeting Information
The Planning Commission meets at 6:00 PM on the third Tuesday of every month, except on holidays, at the Halfmoon Township Municipal Building, 100 Municipal Lane, Port Matilda, PA 16870 and are open to the public.

Responsibilities
The Commission reviews all land development and subdivision plans submitted to the Township and forwards an advisory opinion to the Board of Supervisors. Reviews are performed to determine compliance with Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances (SALDO), Zoning Ordinances, and State Statutes. The Commission may perform additional duties, as needed, such as provide comment on a proposed modification to a Township zoning ordinance, SALDO, or other regulation that may have an impact on Township planning issues.

Centre Regional Planning Commission
Each year, Halfmoon Township appoints one member of the Halfmoon Township Planning Commission to represent the Township on the Centre Regional Planning Commission. This body considers planning issues and problems that extend into two or more municipalities and makes recommendations for action to the Centre Region Council of Governments. The Centre Regional Planning Commission meets monthly.
