The Open Space Preservation Board is comprised of seven residents of the Township who shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The membership shall include one sitting member of the Board of Supervisors, one sitting member of the Planning Commission, and five additional residents of the Township (the “resident members”).
Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors at the organizational meeting for four-year staggered terms.
The Open Space Preservation Board shall be advisory to the Board of Supervisors and shall make recommendations concerning: Terms and conditions of agreements for the purpose of acquiring conservation and preservation easements; Procedures and criteria for selecting properties for conservation and preservation easements; Specific properties to be selected for conservation and preservation easements; Application and acceptance procedures; Subdivision exception for non-open space uses as permitted under ยง 163-4E; and Termination of agreements.
The Open Space Preservation Board meets at 6:00PM on the second Wednesday of every month, except holidays, at the Halfmoon Township Community Center, 100 Municipal Lane, in the Village of Stormstown and are open to the public.
