Halfmoon Township has been recognized at a Gold level of certification for meeting the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification Program’s rigorous performance criteria which tracks 131 policies and practices that define a sustainable community, which include:

Energy Use, Conversation and Green Building
Land Use and Transportation
Other Sustainability Innovations
In 2018, the Township began submitting all criteria in hopes to show the Township’s long history of its commitment to saving taxpayer dollars, using resources efficiently, and applying best practices in municipal government and community development.
