Halfmoon Township park and recreation facilities are managed by the Parks and Recreation Board, which is appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
In addition to the Municipal Building (click on the photos for a larger view), Halfmoon Township has two parks that have facilities that are available to be rented by Halfmoon Township residents (the facilities can also be rented by the general public). The Municipal Park is located beside the Halfmoon Township Municipal building on Municipal Lane, accessible from State Route 550 in the Village of Stormstown. The park and the pavilion are located in a large grove of trees with a number of playground facilities for children. There are also two baseball diamonds and a basketball court. Municipal Park is located away from the main road for a quiet family or group picnic.
The other park is known as Autumn Meadow Park and is located on Smith Road between Autumn Circle and Sky Harbor Drive. This park features a football field, pavilion and also has a swing set for small children.
Halfmoon Township parks and recreation facililties are available for private use by the families of Halfmoon Township.
These are managed by our own Parks and Recreation Board. To check on their availability please call the Township offices at 814-692-9800.
The costs for reserving these facilities are as follows:
Non-profit groups - No charge (a donation will be accepted). A deposit of $50.00 is required for the key.
Resident - $20.00 Building Use fee, plus a $50.00 Security Deposit (refundable after use).
Non-resident - $30 use fee, plus $50.00 Security Deposit (refundable after use).
1/2 day (less than 4 hours) - $25
Full day ( more than 4 hours) - $50
Resident reservation fee - $20
Non - resident reservation fee - $30
Halfmoon Township also contains approximately 3000 acres of State Game Lands, which are located roughly in the northeast part of the Township (see map).
Halfmoon Township conducts an Easter Party for the children of Halfmoon Township residents.
